Tubi just prevented people from accessing their tvs/streaming devices until agreeing to new terms which included not ever sueing or taking part on a case against them. Honestly .. that's messed up. Imagine buying 1 their tvs for $1000s years ago and now you can't use it unl agreeing, u agree and somehow they get hacked and hackers got your network/password and whatever else . Camera view into ur house and u can't sue. I'll never purchase another roku. But sadly I hv roku in my living room and roku channel on my for TV in my room. But never again

Just checked my roku streaming device and yep same thing. They hold you hostage not being able to use the device until you agree.

I haven't agreed. Looks like there needs to be a class action lawsuit over it.

Yea. They shouldn't be able to stop you from using a device you paid for unitil you agree to never sue. I have access to mine n don't remember agreeing to any new terms or not having access so they musta got me while in a rush and not paying attention :/

Yeah, I had seen that before. You can opt-out by MAIL lol. I still haven't used my roku so it still waiting for me to accept. I'm probably just gonna accept but when I plan to actually use it.

So i just saw this this morning. This was EXACTLY what i was thinking could happen and then there's nothing you can do about it if you've agreed to their new terms but you have no choice unless you're willing to NOT have access to your device you PAID for already ... until sending the opt out via mail. I KNEW this could happen. And if you have a device that can see into your home... and have children...or even anything that has any of your information.. which most do. I will NEVER ever ever buy another roku again. I do love my fire tv better anyway, just can't figure out how to make it stop going to sleep on me. When i get home, I tell Alexa to turn on my bedroom tv so by the time I'm ready to go to my room i don't have to walk in the dark to get to the light but no matter what, every time, if i don't actually select something to watch and start it the tv goes dark and then the LEDS plugged into it go on. 1000005733.jpg

Here's part of that article

Kinda funny this happens JUST as we're forced to agree to these terms. I knew it!!!

Wow, amazing. Force terms related to lawsuits and then disclose they were hacked after most people had no choice but to agree. I just agreed a few days ago (not knowing about the hack) so I could use it.

I think when I setup this Roku I was required to provide my credit card number. Looks like that may have been stolen. It says 15,000 accounts. Who knows if that's accurate. Could be lies. Maybe it's all accounts.

Roku's new terms are related to arbitration. The new terms were published Feb 20th. Roku knew about the hack Jan 4th. They forced people to agree to the new terms 5+ days before they disclosed the hack.

Exactly. I didn't know about the hack until today but I knew what the new terms entailed and so IF this were to happen you can't sue or be part of a suit. They FORCED us to agree by shutting our devices down until agreeing, knowing they were hacked. That's total bullshit. They did us all real dirty. Never ever getting another roku. They knew what they were doing n that most ppl don't even read that shit and if already agreed in the past + having busy lives, what's agreeing to new terms when terms are always updating anyway. They fucked us

I saw that the other day. I screenshot it to share w you when I came on next. So weird lol
Yep. I don't use my roku anymore. I only watch TV now when I'm in bed .. on my fire tv. If I'm even home and in the living room, I'll go on the computer but that's rare. Fuck roku.
