Once the actual moving is complete, it’s the setting everything back up and getting it all organized again.
That means I had to take my mirror and lights down to my vanity, all the door mirrors I had on all the closets and everywhere and now put all that back up again. BUT command strips weren’t working like they used to and everything kept coming crashing down. I had broken glass everywhere. Finally had to keep pillows on top of the vanity glass for 2 days after buying NEW light fixtures and bulbs and be sure they weren’t gonna fall and break too. See, w these lights, they’re actually meant to be hard wired to your light source but I don’t wanna mess w that just being a renter, so I had to add actual plugs to the fixtures. Point is when my other ones fell, the bulbs broke but the wires got messed up too. It’s ok. Those were just 3 bulb fixtures and really old anyway. Anyway… I got the mirror and lights to stay up 3 days now so finally added the bulbs. OMG these lights are SO bright and beautiful, better than the clear bulbs.
Also got almost all the mirrors back up on the closet doors. That’s this morning’s progress. Time to take a break and get ready to head out
Since i cant post another response in here, I’m gonna edit this in. These are the bulbs i bought and put in my vanity lights. I used to just get the grwat value clear globe bulbs from Walmart but now, I’m never gonna get anything else. These are so bright and beautiful
They’re also dimmable. So are the fixtures. My others weren’t. I ordered a new switch and remote so when I’m not doing my makeup i can put these on dimmed.
I’ve gotten much further. I’m ALMOST done. Every day i take out more and more boxes I’ve emptied. I’m down to 1 box by the window (u can’t see) a box over by the nightstand and just whats on the floor in front of the vanity. It’s starting to look more like my room again now.
I did a lot - hung the 1 way window film (block the heat from sun and ppl seeing in) and the curtains, hung the nail polish and perfume shelves. Been TRYING to strip the paint from the vanity so i can do it over (ordered 3 diff things and none worked - bringing them back today and gonna just sand the old paint off) Got paint on my chair lol.
Anyways, i had a lot of these gym type bags and boxes filled w all my stuff - the bags over by the closet - i just emptied. The main stuff left to put away is in front of the vanity. Oh yea, had to throw away the led lights that i had around the closets and around the bed, they wouldn’t stick back up again so ordered and hung a new set around the bottom of the bed. Hung the other kind over the bed i had up before. Not gonna do them around the closets this time. I have enough. I did order the neon rope ones though but not sure what I’m gonna do yet but between the ones around the tv, under and over the bed, it’s not a priority. Anyway my coffee is getting cold
I’ll worry about fixing up the furniture later.. although i did take the knobs off the left drawer tryna remove the paint so kinda end finish it but I’ll just put them back on… for now.
Nice! That definitely doesn’t look like fun moving all that stuff. I hadn’t moved in quite a while so helping my dad move a little bit even a little bit of stuff takes time to box up and move.
The computer is set up in the living room. Ill show you that but THAT still gotta finish getting organized lol .. it’s a mess. I did finish the kitchen and the balcony and the bathroom though
YES this move was rough. I had walked a total of apt 15 miles a cpl days before moving then moved everything i own mostly by myself, on foot so that was up and down a total of 5 flights of stairs, EVERY day for nearly 2 weeks straight. I was HURTING. I was SO BRUISED because men usually at least have one other guy helping them move heavy stuff, especially on stairs and that’s usually just a cpl trips -, ONE day. I literally had to go UP AND DOWN non stop for 11 hours each day. Although…i have learned lots of tricks having to do it myself like how to “walk” furniture..cuz i sure as hell wasn’t gone drag it across the concrete from there to here and ruin it. Most awkward stuff to move was things like the big tvs… LUCKILY my arms could stretch out enough to hold each side but it did get difficult once i got down my old steps, over here then up abt half way - that’s when my arms would start shaking and feel like they were gonna give out on me. Got everything over here though. Threw a lot out too. Just would get down my old stairs and decide… FUCK it.. dumpster is closer than going up 3 flights to the New one. But no i haven’t claimed any games in a while. Not yet. Once im settled and have time to sit at and use my pc..

The tv is against the wall on the opposite side. Balcony pic is on my other phone. Which should be charged by now so gonna grab it n go smoke so I’ll show you that I’m a sec. But yea the computer was like the 1st thing i set up lol… the lights around the desk also had to get replaced but i did do that. I kinda bounce between rooms . For days my my tv stand and my coffee table wete just piled w STUFF…and both tables on the sides of the tv. I finished the 2 tables, tv Steve and coffee table the other day. I also had to put together the dining room table. By myself. Ordered that when i was moving and just kept it in its box until moved so itd be easier to get up the steps - its a heavy glass top. YES this move was ROUGH. A lot i didn’t even pack and thought was easier to just take from its spot thete to its spot here like my clothes that were hanging in my closet, just carried them on their hangers to this closet. Lol. SAME w the linen closet - just transferred all the linens from that closet to this one. One sec… I’ll show you the balcony. I had to do A DIY prison so my cat don’t escape
that stuff i put on the widows makes the SUN AND HEAT sooooo much less. And PRIVATE so everybody isn’t looking in at night. Thing is your cant see out either so this time i didn’t cover the WHOLE windows like before. I always left the bottoms cut off so the cat can see out. ALSO had to re buy all those rolls again too. I didn’t even attempt to reuse them.
Yea, at 1st glance its like, bleh… no view, just the woods but it’s WAY better than being anywhere the a LOT going on, better than being in an enclosed circle where everybody can see into everybody’s house. And it’s WAY WAY more peaceful and quieter. I lived above a huge family w a ton of kids that was always out there, across from a pool and playground which was like being at a public pool and park 24.7 and so many other rooms mrhings i won’t get into, can’t anyway…i gotta get going n already late lol

Ignore the paper towel holder, it’s really old and I’m actually gonna glam it up and cover that rusting… or just get a new one. It’s what i used on this door mirror that i am turning into a gallery display. I bent 3 of the holders, drilled holes in the mirror and ziptied them to it for these little lights I’m attaching to face the mirror and putting pics of my brother.

Oh.. ignore the salt and pepper shakers (the heart ones), i gotta redo those too. The paint is starting to wear.
You can get this table in the white (glass top is white too) and you can also get it in the black version, black glass top) i wanted silver legs w the see thru glass top but just ended up getting this one
He moved a lot of stuff before asking me for help. I then helped move some stuff for 4 or 5 days and during that time he also had movers for the big stuff. Last time I helped he still had more to move but hasn’t asked for more help yet. I’ll probably need to help more but since it’s been a couple days I have no idea what’s all left.
I would say, ask him. Maybe he just doesn’t wanna ask for any more help but def needs it? I know I wouldn’t ask anyone and even said ‘nah, I got it’ so many times when guys did offer to help and I REALLY wanted to say, YES, PLEASE… Lol
If someone had just offered to help.. in general, saying “you gonna need any help moving”… I’d have said yes but mid moving, while I already had the shit in my hands and was halfway there, I just want gonna stop to hand it off.
Now, if I had family helping a few days and then they went home and I still had more, I wouldn’t feel right calling and saying, can you come help again, even if I did but if they called and said, you still need help, then yesss. But ppl really just don’t like moving. Helping someone else move sux even more. I really think you should just ask him. Take the burden off him feeling guilty asking
