I have tried being healthy but I find that I am not disciplined enough to stick with it. I, too, cut out sodas for a long time about 12 years ago. But once I took a drink of it, I was hooked again. I do stick with Coke Zero, which isn't any better than regular Coke. I will work out but eating healthy is just not my thing.
I'm a healthy eater for the most part! It's easier to eat better when you're around people with the same eating habits. My coworkers and I have been working out together and eating better, giving each other tips. I was on the Keto diet for awhile.
